I live in an apartment and recently had my carpets cleaned and the cleaning company left residue all over the carpet. I complained to landlord and she had them come back and redo it and it did not fix the issue. Landlord refuses to do anything about it. What are my options?

There is a big hole by the baseboard heater in my apartment and cooking smells from my neighbor and building come through there and it smells so bad and makes me whole bedroom smell and my bedding. Is there a way to seal this? Is this also normal in an apartment to have a big hole like that in the wall? Property manager won’t do anything.
