Hey everyone, I’m trying to decide between two master’s programs and could really use some grounded advice (especially from people who’ve gone through recruiting recently).
Options:
MCS at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (Chicago campus, AI track)
MSAI at Northwestern University
Networking matters a LOT to me, like more than anything else
The goal is simple: land a solid job (ideally big tech or a well-known company)
I know UIUC CS has a stronger technical reputation overall, but does that actually translate to better outcomes from the Chicago MCS campus?
Northwestern publishes strong placement stats (but not always program-specific). Are those realistic for MSAI?
At UIUC Chicago, do you feel disadvantaged compared to Urbana students? (I’m mainly worried I’ll be at a disadvantage for recruiting on this campus, thoughts?)
