In case anyone was wondering: Frank Martz (“city manager”) lol responded to my email to the mayor. I guess having those details does provide some insight and makes me feel slightly hopeful that it won’t be this way indefinitely. Still, seems very stagnant for now and a while probably.

Please no hate— I’m just a girl who enjoys her nature time and wishes florida appreciated and conserved the nature it has more than it does.

I went to Lake Lotus Park after not going for a few years— I did know for a while most of the trails were closed and I should’ve checked prior to going but they were all still closed (except one that’s short) and have been closed for years apparently?? Most people have apparently gotten the same answers when asking the park ranger that they are unsure about the future of the progress of the park. This makes me really upset bc it was a beautiful park in the middle of a very suburban area. I emailed the mayor (pbates@altamonte.org) in hopes of pestering her a bit and maybe putting on her radar (again I’m sure) Maybe other people would feel inclined to do so as well so she knows people are still wanting this 😭 And if anyone knows any groups or more helpful people I could be emailing or getting in contact with let me know. I know I am just an individual but there’s so much overdevelopment in FL, we gotta really conserve the few spaces we have 😭 TIA!
