Desk Appearance Ticket has wrong address
I received a Desk Appearance Ticket to appear in criminal court in a few weeks. The appearance is an arraignment. A few days after receiving the DAT, I noticed that the address on it is incorrect. I remember telling the officer in the precinct that my ID had my old address, and I’m confident that I provided my correct address (building number XYZ). I think the error is from using the year of my birthdate (E/F/AB) as part of the address (resulting in XAB instead of XYZ).
I’m in the process of updating my ID to the current address (XYZ). Should I go to the precinct before my arraignment to correct the address, or could the incorrect address serve as a means of dismissal at my arraignment? I don’t really want to entertain a not guilty plea and court case, unless the address thing would definitely result in a dismissal.
Also, I was filmed at the precinct while being searched and providing my information. Is it generally possible to obtain that footage, to show that I provided the correct information and that the mistake was the officer’s?
If it matters, I was arrested at my home and answered the door when they knocked. So they had the means of knowing my address without me telling them at the precinct.
