Hi! I apologize in advance if this is tedious or if I made any mistakes in my writing. 🙏
I dug a pit/hole? about 20×25 chunks, sort of down to around bedrock level in order to build a trading hall. I've learned that slimes spawn in slime chunks below Y level 40, and this pit/hole contains roughly 50 slime chunks.
I looked up mob switches and read the wiki, but I’m still not sure I understand correctly, and I'm a bit confuse+I have a few questions.
The hostile mob cap is around 70 (?) and since I have an iron farm nearby, I’m thinking of using zombie villagers (That already had been traded with, not name-tagged, and not holding items). Do I need to put them in boats, or can I just leave them and they won’t despawn?
Can I turn a mob switch on or off? My issue is the slimes in the pit/hole, and I don’t want to disable mob spawning for the entire world.
I also have a creeper farm more than 128 blocks away, but still within 16 chunks of the pit/hole. Will the mob switch affect the creeper farm? Do I need to relocate the creeper farm, or will lowering render distance (so it unloads) allow creepers to spawn normally?
This is Vanilla Java 1.21.11. Seed: -1667558302817538897. The pit is no where near the spawn chunk.
Thanks!!!
