Michigan ABAWD

I’ve been unemployed since a work related back injury in 2022. In the past 6 months my family applied for SNAP benefits and were approved. Now the requirement letter is requesting proof. I have an appointment scheduled requesting to have my physical limitations documented. My workers comp also documented I was on light duty / desk work only restrictions for almost a year before I left the job due to injury.

Since leaving this position in 2023 my issue has been chronic and I’m wondering if my doctor writes a note saying I am limited to work desk / remote jobs if it would suffice to allow my family to keep their benefits. My local job market is dominantly physical labor or factory work or involves standing for long hours or lifting which I cannot accommodate. I am not seeking disability nor have the intention to.

Basically wondering what people’s experiences are on the matter since this is all new to me.

Thank you.
