Snowsky Disc weird black screen crashes

Got my hands on a Snowsky Disc a few days and I've been having really weird issues with the thing.

During my first maybe 10 minutes with it, where I managed to listen to one and a half songs, it crashed with a black screen. Wouldn't react to any button presses. Tried holding the power button to no avail. Honestly don't know what I did to get it back to life. Did do a local update to 1.86 hoping that'd help. Unfortunately I don't remember what firmware it shipped with. After that crash it was smooth sailing.

Next day same spiel. Fire it up, wanna listen to some jams. Maybe 5-10 minutes in? Black screen crash, again. Don't really remember all the remedies I've tried on that day.

Two days later. Same. Spiel. This time the crash wasn't even 5 minutes into it being turned on. Tried all the things, Hold power button for varying amounts of time, do the same with power & vol+, take out SD card, put it back in, hook it up to my PC & button combo. When I was about to give up and remove it from my PC, the screen glitched with white lines while pulling out the cable. After that it came back to life for the day.

Same thing happened yesterday and today. Today I wasn't even anywhere near the music, went through the settings when it happened. Also more weird white lines during the crashes.

It doesn't matter if there's music playing or not, actively touching it or not, it being hooked up to the PC or not. There is no correlation here. The only similarity between all crashes is that they happen when it's been turned off for a while and then powered on. Then they're basically guaranteed to happen after 2-10 minutes. During these crashes (and attempting to reset it) the backlight will either be really weak, come on full force (like its rebooting) or not be on at all. The recommended power button & volume+ combo doesn't work during these crashes either.

Logs are useless since the date will always randomly reset back to 2020/ 2025 during/after these crashes. These crashes happened on whatever firmware it shipped with, 1.86 and now 1.95.

Honestly I'm at my wits end. Is this normal? Should I return it for a new one? Could it be my SD card? :(

Oh and one thing to add from todays crash: I typed up this post while it was stuck on the black screen. After I was mostly done I went back to check on it and it came back to life after holding just the power button for a few seconds. So maybe it's more of a time thing for it to come back and not whatever button combo/ hooked up to PC or not?

EDIT: 99% sure it's the display. Had another 'crash' where the screen cut to black thrice (stayed black the third time) but it still responded to buttons. Restarted it, pressed around in the middle & playpause and it resumed playback. Screen recovered after ~5 minutes.
