Underrated interview tip: glaze academic medicine
Hi everyone - as someone who had a pretty successful cycle, I wanted to share one pearl of wisdom I used in my interviews.
If you get a question in the realm of "what are your plans for the future?" or "what kind of career do you envision having?", make sure to glaze tf out of academic medicine.
Tell them you love patient care as well as advancing the field through research + education. The people interviewing you are have dedicated their careers to academic medicine and a lot of them look down on private practice (for whatever reason).
I found that it's a quick way to make them like you!
