piggybacking off vagaboundromtheriver i was inpired to make a list of my favorite moments in fiction, i tried my best to inculde a wide variaty of media. here are the series in order
1)Pirates of the caribbean dead mans chest: wheel of fortune, the fight on the island over davy jones heart. Pirates has so many amazing scenes but this is easily my favorite, if not my favorite moment in all of cinema.
2)Hunterxhunter, "we are far worse then the ants". Netero vs meruem is amazing but the conclusion is what puts it over the edge for me, the scene showing the destruction of the rose bomb with the meme soundtrack is unironically peak. The ants never stood a chance, easliy my fovirte moment in HxH.
3)One piece: "lets crash this wedding," again a series with so many amazing moments, I know their alot of one piece hate on this sub and even more post timeskip hate but this scene on whole cake is my favorite in the series. Its one of my favorite depictions of forgivness in media, sanjis family does not deserve it but he wants to save them anyway. whenever sanji is not a caricature of himself hes the best character in the series.
4)Better call saul: "Walter white could not do it without me," jimmy mcgill is an amazing character and him winning out over saul goodman in the end and owning up to everything is a amazing conclusion to the show and his character. particularly when he admits to causing his brothers death and the remorse he feels is what gets to me, anything having t do with the relationship between siblings gets to me emotinally but seven so this is an amazing scene
5)Do the right thing: the story of love and hate, I love spike lees films and the love in hate monologue my radio raheem is my favorite scene. I know its a refrence to another older film but i prefer this movie and this version more. nothing much else to say, go watch the movie or atleast this scene.
- Battle of the labryinth: the great god pan is dead.(i used comic panel but i mean book version) the percy jackson series was my childhood and I'm a huge riordanhead, the battle of the labryinth is my favorite out of all his books. I just find something incredibly sad about this scene, pan the god of the wild is dieing due to the lessening of his influence do to human urbanization, and hes passes on his spirit to percy and the squad so that they can continue his work. its the first time in the series that we see a god fade away and as someone majoring in environmental science, every time I see place getting urbanized i think of this scene.
7)fung-fu panda 2: inner peace, this is an unbeliveable emotionally inteligent scene for a kids movie and belive their should be more scene like this in childrens media. Po reliving his past and allowing it to flow through him and not let it control him is something we can all learn from.
8)Fantastic mr fox: Canis lupus, I never understood this scene when i watched it as a kid but it always stuck with me. Mr fox coming to terms that he isn't a wild animal and being contempt with his life is an amzing way to end the film.
9)JJBA part 5: abbachios death, everything from the doppio vs risotto to abbachios final moments is peak jojo, and the quote given by abbachios partner have been about why he continues to fight even if its sgainst a corrupt system have stuck with me since i first read it.
10)JJBA part 3: Darby vs jotaro: talk about absoulte jojos insanity, I love this fight, its amazing hilarious and obsurde. All things i love. if you havent watched jojos go watch it.
11)Full metal alchemist Brotherhood: Prides defeat, Kimblee coming in clutch at the last moment and calling out pride for his lack of pride was an amazing way to integrate the character one last time, he was one of if not my favorite charcter and definetly my favorite antagonist in the show.
12)Game of thrones: Hound opens up to Arya, listening to Sandor talk about how he got his burn always makes me tear up, another example of the bond between brothers or lack their of in the situation getting to me. Rory Mccan portrayal of emotion in this scene is amazing, you can see him revert to an almost childlike state when recalling what his brother did to him and its this scene that most likely got him off Arya's list.
13)Jurassic park(book): the main road, the best chapter in the book by far, the book and movie are both very good but also differ in many ways, this is not one of them besides a few characters. I suggest listening to it on youtube its only like 20 minutes.
14)the wire: motherfucker scene, the entire scene is bunk and mucnulty solving a cold case while only saying "motherfucker." this scene is amazing, if you live in america especially DMV the wire is a must watch.
- House M.D: house teached med students. My favorite episode of the show, the penultimate episode of season 1, we get a look at how house becmae the jaded docter his is now and a look at the better outcomes that could have happened to him. Its an excellent look into his character and takes the shows formula and twists it a bit.
16)halo reach: "It didn't take long for Reach to fall: our enemy was ruthless. Efficient. But they weren't nearly fast enough. For you had already passed the torch. And because of you, we found Halo, unlocked its secrets, shattered our enemy's resolve. Our victory — your victory — was so close, I wish you could have lived to see it. But you belong to Reach. Your body, your armor — all burned and turned to glass. Everything… except your courage. That, you gave to us. And with it, we can rebuild."
17)telltale the walking dead: Kenny leaves welligton ending, this is the canon ending for season 2 for me. while season 2 as a whole sucks ass and forced choiced between jane and kenny is a little silly, this ending is amazing. Its the best outcome for kenny so he dosent get shafted in season 3. lees death at the end of season 1 or clems fakeout at then end of season 4 are both close scenes on a emotional level and i might switch them out depedning on the day but for now this is my favorite scene in the game.
18)Transformers 3: autobots death, people hate micheal bays transformers but I love the main triology and this scene in the third hits hard. A huge part of my love is the fact me and my brother quote the scene simons says to sam after they see the ship explode, at this point excepting that decpeticon subjigation of the planet is assured. the lowest point in the entire triology and i love it.
19)Smash brawl subspace emisary: This scene is just hype as hell, after the halberd destroyed then the swell of the brawl theme starts. Gives me goosebumps everytime. this scene is better then the portals scene in endgame fight me.
20)Nujabes luvsic hexology written by shing02, i know this is kind of pushing it but since the album tells a story it counts. their is so much more to the story of this song given the context of its creation and the death of nujabes before its completion.
