22M, Finance Master’s Student, from Morocco, graduating soon and seeking Jobs or Internships Abroad
Hey everyone,
I honestly don’t really know where to start…
I’m 22, from Morocco, and currently finishing a Master’s degree in Finance at a business school. I’m supposed to graduate around June/July 2026.
For as long as I can remember, literally since I was a kid, I always wanted to go abroad. For family reasons, personal aspirations, lifestyle reasons, personality, and many other things. However, for several reasons again, studying abroad, traveling abroad, and things like that were never really possible for me financially.
My parents were not always willing, or sometimes simply not able, to pay certain amounts of money for that, even though I’ve seen other families help their kids with these opportunities, which is understandable. However, to be fair to them, they did agree to help me once and twice.
The first time was when I applied to a private school in France for a double degree program. I convinced them because it was the cheapest option among the ones I had. I chose the cheapest on purpose.
For me, France was not about the school itself or the academic side. It was more about it being a first step toward going abroad. In my mind, if I managed to do that and start there, I would then be able to build many more things afterward, both professionally and personally, which was pretty much my goal.
Unfortunately, regardless of the details, it did not work out.
This year, I tried again through Campus France, which is basically an intermediary between universities/schools in France and international students. Since I’m already a Master’s student, I applied basically for a second Master’s degree, again not really for the studies themselves, but more as a way to finally move abroad and start my life there. That said, I still would have taken the studies seriously and done my best regardless if it meant achieving that goal.
I had 7 choices, and I chose only public universities because they were the most financially realistic for me. Well, more precisely, realistic to for my parents financially, because I chose public universities in order to convince them to help, since it would require less financial support compared to private schools. I think they could also have supported more expensive private schools if they wanted, but I’m not questioning their decision or whether to do it or not, and I’m not complaining. Regardless of that, I would have appreciated the opportunity.
So far, I already received 6 refusals, and realistically speaking, the 7th will probably also be a refusal.
Now that graduation is getting closer, and I’m approaching the stage of starting my career, the idea of going abroad honestly feels more and more like a dream that is slowly disappearing, which is hard for me to accept. Especially because I never really felt like my life here was truly the life I wanted either, so imagining myself continuing here long term is difficult.
I already started applying online for jobs and internships through LinkedIn, Indeed, and other platforms, mostly for entry level finance related positions such as:
- Junior Financial Analyst
- Junior Auditor
Etc.
If anyone here has access to job opportunities, internships that can lead to full-time roles, or is willing to provide referrals or direct hiring opportunities, I would genuinely appreciate it.
I am specifically looking for roles abroad, and I would require employer visa sponsorship in order to work in most of these countries.
The countries I mainly think about are:
- France
- Canada
- USA
- UK
- Germany
- Australia
- and similar countries.
Nb: I speak Arabic, French, and English fluently.
Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this.
