How would you progress a Circle of Stars Druid considering Twilight Cleric multiclass?
Hey everyone!
I’m currently playing a level 5 Circle of Stars Druid in a Call of the Netherdeep campaign, and I’ve been considering eventually multiclassing into Twilight Cleric. I’d love to hear opinions from people who’ve played something similar, both mechanically and narratively.
My character, Orion, is an Aasimar with a growing connection to Sehanine Moonbow. He was raised by a Stars Druid after surviving the destruction of his village as a child, and a huge part of his identity revolves around stars, silence, dreams, etc..
Throughout the campaign, his connection to Sehanine has slowly become more important:
- visions and strange dreams
- moon-related ruins and symbols
- celestial imagery appearing repeatedly
- an important artifact tied to Sehanine and the setting
- hints that his lineage may be connected to ancient followers/champions of hers
Because of that, Twilight Cleric feels extremely fitting from a roleplay perspective. It wouldn’t really be a sudden religious conversion, but more like Orion gradually accepting that something divine has been guiding him for a long time.
That said, I really don’t want to multiclass too early and lose the identity/progression of Circle of Stars Druid just for optimization. Right now he’s Druid 5, and I feel like the multiclass should happen naturally through the story rather than immediately.
So I wanted to ask:
- Has anyone played Circle of Stars Druid + Twilight Cleric?
- At what level did you multiclass?
- How many Cleric levels felt good?
- Did the progression feel smooth or delayed?
- Any especially fun synergies, combos, or thematic moments?
- Did you ever feel the subclasses overlapped too much?
- Would you recommend staying mostly Druid?
I’m mainly prioritizing lore, character identity, and narrative progression, but I’d also love to hear gameplay experiences and recommendations from people who’ve tried similar builds.
