I applied for U.S. citizenship in September 2025. I recently received an email confirming that my case is still pending. My current Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) is set to expire on June 3, 2026. I have received confirmation of my pending application and can provide my receipt notice from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) as proof that my case is actively being processed.

I was told as long as I have my Green Card (expired) and my USCIS receipt notice showing my application is pending, my work authorization remains valid. Is this true? Has this happened to anyone?
