Question about day old chick.
Hi! So this is my first time hatching eggs in an incubator. Mama killed/ate 2 of the babies when they hatched in the coop so I saved this one yesterday after she stepped on the shell, so the baby came a bit early. He/she is walking/stumbling as best as it can and is cheeping. They slept through the night very well but I’m worried it might be hungry or thirsty? It’s been in the incubator for 24 hours here in about another 3 hours. My question is: what is the thing that is still attached to its behind? When do I need to move the chick into a brooder to try and give it food and water? If this is the egg sack, do I leave the chick in the incubator? I’m just kinda lost as to what I need to do for it. I’m praying it pulls through as it has energy and seemed to want to live. Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you!
