Need Some Validation
I'm 41, and have believed myself to be in peri for about three years. My PCP kept telling me all my symptoms were not related (migraines all the time, palpitations, mood swings and energy levels, night sweats). She sent me to many different specialists, who found nothing wrong with me, and I secretly think they all thought I was crazy. My mom and my best friend are also saying I'm way too young to have 'any of those problems'. The only other female in my life is my cat, and lets be honest she doesnt care haha.
After tracking migraines that synched up with my already shortened cycle, my new OB finally believed me. She started me on lo loestrin 6 weeks ago, and I was just so happy to finally be acknowledged!! But here's the thing, now for 6 weeks I have had consistent heavy bleeding, since day one. I have cramping, and my libido had died completely (which I still had prior to the pill). After years of trying to be heard or seen, I feel really worn out that this doesnt seem to be a fit for me. I'm still taking the medication in hopes that something will improve, and I have a follow up scheduled in another month.
At this point, I just want to go take a nap and emerge as a wonderfully baren witch who lives in her garden with her cats.
