how to teach my cat to fetch

my cat knows how to fetch! tbh we think hes a dog in a cat’s body. And his favourite game is fetch the teddy, sometime he quite enjoys playing and the only thing that makes him chatty and trill for some reason. But the thing is he only plays fetch with the teddy only. How do i teach him to play fetch with other toys ?

so we know his mom is a typical domestic shorthair but his cryptic dad ? we dont know his origins.

could he have some mau DNA in him ? he does have the black stripe going down his back and into his tail ( we assumed it came from his mother but his dad also has it ?)
