When it comes to ticks, I’ve heard everything from permethrin and deer failing completely and bug spray being enough to cover you. I treat my clothes and tent by soaking them in permethrin and I’m using Deet sprays each morning before I hike and I tuck my pants into my socks. Will this realistically remove the chance of being bit completely? I’m worried about catching the diseases, where I hike is practically ground zero of alpha gal. I’m considering waiting till the end of tick season to get back out there, doesn’t seem like much is known about alpha gal and if it’s going to be super bad this year I don’t want to risk it.
