Hi all,
I understand that the title itself is a bit confusing, but
.. how does weaning work after 8 months?
My little one turned 8 months today. We started solids at 6 months with one meal a day, then we added breakfast and a couple weeks ago I added dinner too. He seems sometimes excited and he's eating a lot, sometimes he's not interested at all and he wants to be taken off his high chair, breastfeed and sleep.
I don't know exactly what my expectations are but... How on earth are we supposed over the course of the next couple months to wean off feeds and weaning off completely? I obviously would want him around the time he starts nursery at 1 year old to have 1/2 feeds a day as I hate pumping, so I'm trying to work out how is he supposed within 2-3 months to shift towards more solids?
Obviously I'm doing majority of it baby led like if I'm eating breakfast he's having breakfast, if I am having dinner he's having dinner too, if he shows more interest towards food when I'm having a snack I'm giving him a snack too. I guess see if he asks for more food down the road? I can't imagine our day to day without much breastfeeding, in my head it doesn't seem to shift around that fast?
He's having 3 meals a day and once in a blue moon a snack, 4-5 feeds of milk sometimes 6.
Some days he will refuse all solids and just have breastmilk.
