SE Michigan. House built in 1950. This is from a basement that has been renovated at least once, but I don't know when.
Lots of houses in this area had asbestos tile basements. This basement thankfully has none, at least now. But one of the prior owners set up this incredibly strange light fixture under a shelf, and used these two tiles to support it. Everything is covered in paint/glue, and well fixed in place. They are hard to the touch.
My concern is someone in the past DIYed this using some spare asbestos tiles, which then possibly got missed in a renovation. Do these look like Asbestos?
