Hybrid Ablation for paroxysmal Afib?
Meet Michael a patient of mine (he has given me full consent to share his Story and video) – A Patient's Journey Through Atrial Fibrillation Treatment
Michael is 74 years old and had been living with highly symptomatic atrial fibrillation, significantly impacting his quality of life. His treatment journey began with a catheter ablation — specifically a pulmonary vein isolation using cryothermia.
Unfortunately, the procedure did not yield the desired outcome.
With Michael's strong wish to discontinue all medications — including anticoagulation therapy — a repeat procedure with 3D mapping was ruled out. Instead, the team opted for a more advanced surgical approach: a minimally invasive, totally thoracoscopic ablation combined with left atrial appendage (LAA) clipping.
The procedure was performed without complications.
Now, Michael visits his care team to share how he's doing — and his story is one worth hearing.
