I have no words. Can’t seem to win against the metal in the water from well. Wondering if it’s not possible to have a hottub here

New hot tub here. I fought literally for six days trying to get my hottub to clear up and get all the metal out. I just got it and didn’t realize my well water source was filled with metal. I didn’t use a hose filter or use metal gone beforehand before adding anything. It turned brown whithin 30mins of adding shock and bromine tablets. I fought for 6 days after that changing the filter out multiple times a day and was stuck at a green tint. I drained the hot tub and started over at that point.

Now for fill number 2, I used a filter on my hose to remove metals, I ran the metal gone stuff in the system without anything else for 18 hours. I adjusted all the chems to where everything was in range. I got a gallon of water from the hot tub and put it in a bowl. Added shock and bromine tablets and let them at sit for a few hours before adding it to the hot tub. I did this to see if it turn brown before I did it to the hot tub. It stayed nice and clear. I proceeded and added the shock, plus bromine tablets. Everything was perfect after 3 hours as sanitation was in range. The hot tub stayed a nice blue/clear color for 12 hours. Finally got to use it for the first time btw! Was grand. Go to bed and I come back to a green tinted hot tub and my filter filled with oxidized metals, the brown/orange color. I literally did everything right… I don’t understand why it delayed changes colors and oxidizing still. I don’t know what to do at this point. I can drain it but what could I change. Debating if it will be even possible to have a hot tub with my well water. No I can’t have water delivered. I can’t go collect water 30 mins in down with water coolers. The hottub is 220g

Maybe I sound insane but can I get in the water like this? It’s from metal. I just want to use the dang thing already😭 I have chronic back pain and have wanted this thing for years. It’s still clearing out/ filtering the metal. It is not alage. I put 4 table spoons of bleach in it yesterday to be sure. As it was taking forever to clear and questioned if I got alage right after the brown metal water fiasco. I’ve had bromine in it at safe levels from day one. Anyways that did nothing.

I got my new hottub setup six freaking days ago. I have yet to use it. Took a few days as a new hottub owner to get the water balanced which it is now. Minus the tint. Plus has been filtering out metal rust water every day. I cleaned the filter 2 times a day. It’s just still a light green from metal from day one filling it and adding shock. Joys. It was dark brown right after and now here we are. I’m about to drain it and start over now when I get time tomorrow or next day. Unless a new filter will finish the job. Current one is pretty brown despite rinsing it a ton. I bought a hose filter and more metal gone and know what to do now so I don’t make this mistake.

I just want to know if it’s safe to get in this. Please don’t be mean as I’m new to all this. I tried googling this questions but somehow couldn’t find a exact answer on it. I just am excited to use my hot tub and have been waiting for so long. Once I drain it, it will take 2 more days to get to temp again.

I am having quite the time. I did research before treating the hot tub. Unfortunately wherever I got my info from was lacking. I have learned my mistakes after further research.

1.) I dosed bromine first, and shock which turned my water very brown due to metals. I live in the mountains / rural with well water. I have cleaned my filter multiple times a day and dosed the metal gone stuff.

2.) I didn’t realize I had to fix the alkaline before I could fix the PH. The PH has been max high for days. I didn’t realize with high PH it messes everything up. Bromine doesn’t work right nor the metal gone

3.) I have been dosing alk booster multiple times. I finally got it up to a safe range on day 2. Now the high PH still won’t budge.

4.) I believe I finally got the metal out but now the water is green so I think I have alage now from high ph making the bromine not work right.

I’m assuming once I one day fix PH after tons of doses I should throw shock in to address what I assume is alage now.

I know know to get a filter on my hose for the metal and throw the metal be gone stuff in first thing and let it mix before addding bromine and shock.

First pic is right after I turned it brown. Second pic is where it’s at now.

Is it normal to have to dose your water this much? I have added so many doses to get alk down and even more to keep trying to get the ph down.

Also I have yet to even get in my hottub after 3 days as my water has been messed up the entire time I’ve had it. Super blows as I’m excited to use it
