I’ve seen this theory so many times and it has nev made any sense to me but I’ll give them i can see why they might think he/she is a synth.

some of the “evidence” used that the SS is a synth is there is this one terminal in the robotics division in the Institute that speaks of fathers secret gen 3 synth project but I highly doubt the ss is this secret project. Also the people who believe this have some explanations to why the institute doesn’t use Nate/nora‘s recall code ivw seen 2 theories 1.he/she doesn’t have a recall code I don’t think this somthing the Institute would realistically do if he/she were a synth why not have a recall code. the second one is only father knows the recall code but that still brings up the question why dosent father use it I think he would care more about the more than the pet project he made.

another point to why the ss not a synth is in the BOS ending after the molecular level quest with the bos you get the synth data the tells you who is a synth and you learn danse is a synth so why weren’t you on ther. the an they give to this is fathers secret privet wouldn’t be put in with all the other synth data.

thry also use DIMA‘s question as a example he asks you ab your earliest memories and you tell him about you pre war life before the bombs and he use that you don’t remember anything before that as Evidence you could be a synth. but as we know DIMA is a manipulator and made kasumi think she is a synth even though she’s huma there is no synth component on her bod.

the last bit of evidence I’ve seen is that you can use VATS before you get the pip-boy I think this is just a oversight from Bethesda.
