Vinted return dispute after seller received the item back — can I lose both the item and the money?
Hi, I need some advice about a Vinted return dispute because I’m really confused about what’s happening.
I bought a dress on Vinted and when it arrived, it had several issues that were not mentioned in the listing:
one button was missing
the sizing/fit was very strange and there was no size label
the shape of the dress looked different compared to the listing photos
I opened an issue immediately after receiving it and sent photos to Vinted. The seller then accepted the return, so I shipped the dress back through the Vinted system.
She has now received the dress back, but the transaction is still “frozen” and she says she is communicating with Vinted support and waiting for their decision. I also received a message from Vinted asking me for additional photos and information.
What confuses me is:
I thought the refund would be automatic once the seller received the returned item
I can’t see anywhere what exactly the seller reported or disputed
I’m worried about possibly losing both the money and the dress
Has anyone experienced something similar? Can Vinted actually decide that the seller keeps both the item and the payment after a return? Or is this just a normal part of the dispute process while they review the evidence?
