Removal went badly

I had my Nexplanon replaced this week. Unfortunately, the removal did not go smoothly. First of all, there were numbing problems. I had 4 lidocaine injections and still felt it. My doctor could not find the end of the implant and it was so deeply engrained that he really really struggled to get it out. It took over 2 hours to remove it.

I loved Nexplanon. I rely on it for birth control, but as a chronic illness girlie, my periods flared my symptoms every month. Nexplanon fixed that for me and gave me some control. However, I had to have a t-incision to get the old one out and it still hurts like hell. The doctor spent the whole appointment apologizing, that it shouldn’t have been like that, and I felt such genuine pity from him. I’m normally such a toughie!

There are still steri strips holding the wound closed. I’m bummed.

Breakfast of champions? I think I could have finished it with more gravy, a little dry. Loads of curds with surprisingly good squeakage.
