Hi Redditors,

I'm an Engineer who has worked at a company for a couple of years now that has been working with the PADS/Xpedition tool suite for over 20 years now. I'm an ex Altium user myself.

I and some other members of my team have been suffering with Xpedition and have taken it upon themselves to attempt to convince leadership to make a change. However leadership seems reluctant to move over to Altium for what appears to be mostly "it's Legacy" reasons. And any of the trash UI/UX problems we are running into are simply hung up to "you need more training". That said, I have to make my case towards leadership soon and I'm trying to gather some ammunition.

I was wondering if anyone else has gone through a similar situation and if they have any recommendations on how to tackle this? The topics that are already on my radar are: the atrocious UI, the discontinuity between the designer and layout tool, the library management process and the lack of any proper support documentation.

Note: Ideally I'd like to migrate to KiCAD but I believe it's just not quite there yet for corporate use at our company.
