I'm doing an invisible cast on for double knitting. Im having an issue where the yarn between the two needles on my cast on row just gets longer and longer and it is becoming very annoying. How do I fix this?

I have read the FAQ and saw that this is a problem with some other cast on methods, so do I simply have to deal with it?

I'm having trouble making deep stop cuts. I'm using basswood. I don't know if its a technique issue or something, but I'm just trying to make basic shapes.

My stop cuts aren't deep enough so when I cut to them I get chips that dont fall out
