Going to keep it short for all of my "stressed and just want answers" folks :)

First time test taker (July 26'). Studicata Bar Prep and Adaptibar. Day 2 of studying. I'm using the "block method." Block 1, subject videos and light notes. Block 2, answering Adaptibar questions and reviewing answer choices. Block 3, MEE question, issue spot and review model answer. Simple, right? Right.

Block 3 is where the issue comes in (no pun). I don't know how to choose the correct MEE to issue spot the information that I covered for that day.

Let's use Contracts for example, today's subtopics focused on mailbox rule, mirror image rule and consideration. Including those two topics, I've also covered formation generally i.e. mutual assent and UCC vs. common law (brief nuances). No defenses, no statute of frauds. When choosing a MEE to cover for Block 3 today, I chose July 2014 (please don't ask why because idk lol). The issues in that essay were preexisting duty (consideration was addressed through this issue), modification (consideration was addressed through this issue), essentially both of those issues targeted UCC vs. Common Law, and economic duress. I THINK MY BRAIN EXPLODED DURING REVIEW.

I was so hyper-focused on what I've learned over the past two days, specifically from yesterday and today, that my issues were either too general (i.e. focusing on the formation and breach of a contract...which clearly was not at issue, which I IMMEDIATELY knew by simply READING the fact pattern, so they are clearly were not at issue) or I was just completely off and fishing for something to stick (i.e. conditional offer...CONDITIONAL OFFER?? ugh, its going to be a long 12 weeks).

Please go read July 2014 Contracts MEE for my sanity lol because I analyzed the fact pattern on hopes, prayers and slight delusion.

The "problem" with the only solution that I could come up with is that I could just go on JD advising and see what MEE's test what subtopics to ensure that I am covering the right subtopics I learned for the day...but doesn't that defeat the purpose of ISSUE SPOTTING if I already know the issues?

SN: Adaptibar does not let you specifically choose subtopics either. Although, I can choose the subject, the actual question subtopic is a roll of the dice. 90% of the questions are out of my wheelhouse right now based on the topics covered in bar prep, but I push through and come out relatively unscathed. By unscathed I mean anything higher than 50% (ok, 45%).

Help me figure this out please!

I said I would keep it short, but I'll be an attorney in October so I need to practice lying now. Haha? No? Ok, sorry.
