Just wanna ask if anyone else is experiencing something similar.
I’m currently taking an Entrepreneurship subject this semester. Initially, our lecturer briefed us that our final group project would be a Business Model Canvas (BMC) presentation.
But in Week 3, suddenly a new assignment was introduced. We’re now required to record and submit 3 hours of our own voice talking about our roles in the group project using DingTalk. The submission is under something called “Malaysian AI Language Collection.”
Here’s the issue:
- It’s compulsory (worth 15%)
- No proper explanation of how our voice data will be used
- No consent form or opt-out option was given
- It feels like we’re being made to contribute to some kind of AI voice dataset
From what I understand, DingTalk can be used for AI voice/data collection, which makes this even more concerning. Is this even okay? Has anyone from other universities been asked to do something like this? Or is this just happening in my uni?
