Hello! My partner and I are keen hikers and currently backpacking in the Balkans.

We had originally planned to complete the full peak of the Balkans trail however we have decided that due to timing (we have a small window end of May), current snow conditions and our lack of experience hiking on snowy passes we don’t feel safe and comfortable to do the hike.

We would still like to visit northern Albania and maybe chose one spot to do 2/3 day hikes from lower altitude and maybe in a valley or low altitude to stay away from snow.

Does anyone have recommendations for day hikes either from Theth or Valbonë (or another option)?

We also will now be hiking part of the Albanian coastal trail if anyone has tips of recommendations for that!
