Max speed with a 750 front wing ?
Hello everyone,
I’d love to get your feedback on whether these figures seem realistic considering my setup, especially the front wing.
I downloaded the GPX data from my Garmin MK3 and analyzed it with ChatGPT to check for any GPS glitches. For reference, Waterspeed gives exactly the same results for max speed, as well as 2s, 5s, and 10s averages.
My previous top speed was 27 kts, so I was honestly surprised (and very happy!) to hit 31.5 kts peak speed, with 30.9 kts over 2 seconds.
I can’t give an exact wind reading because I was riding around several islands and the gusts were very inconsistent, but I’m confident it was below 20-23 kts in gusts . The water however was extremely flat.
My setup:
F-One Cross Over 65L
Harness Mount V2 Pro
F-One Strike V5 5.5m with carbon boom
F-One Sk8 V2 750 front wing
F-One Stab 140
85 cm / 16 mm mast
Rider weight: 75 kg
What surprised me most is how comfortable and controlled the run felt, full beam reach, no major instability, and I genuinely felt I still had room to push.
Some friends think the data must be wrong because of the 750 front wing, but from my side the GPS traces look clean and consistent.
So my question for the experienced riders here:
Do you think 31.5 kts is technically achievable with a 750 front wing in very flat water, or does it sound unrealistic?
Thanks a lot for your feedback!
