I married a disabled Asian American man whose family concealed their wealth until after our marriage. I was working in a professional job and believed him to be poor when we met.
As in a C-drama, there were elements of his family’s thinking that I might be a gold-digger because they didn’t think anyone could actually want him. There were also elements of snobbery and racism in the story. Also scenes of my being suspicious of certain nice pieces of art etc.
Unlike in Drama, there was no actual conspiracy to get rid of me as a daughter in law. Also, my husband is not as rich, nowhere near as rich, as the CEOs in the movies. Furthermore, unfortunately there has been no cure for his disability.
