Need Some Reassurance on Daycare

FTM here. Baby Boy just turned 3 months old yesterday. Next week, we are doing a trail run of daycare while I go in for shadowing at my new job. Starting full time work & daycare June 1st. Background info- I had a really difficult and high risk pregnancy and was placed on bed rest multiple times, baby was born early and had a NICU stay. I’ve been home with baby since February (off work since Jan due to losing my part time job) and while I realize that I am so blessed to have my healthy baby with me and have gotten this time with him when other moms get much less, I am terrified for this change. I know this is how it has to be due to being the primary breadwinner in my family and that as baby gets older, he will have a lot of fun playing with other babies and more stimulation than I can provide at home. He’s still just so young and just started having a personality… He still likes to be held and likes contact naps… I don’t want him to be crying for hours and unhappy every day. Our daycare has a 1:4 ratio, 6 weeks-6 months group but my son is the youngest one. It kills my mama heart to think of him going through the transition and being so unhappy.

Can some working moms with babies in daycare please give me some reassurance on this process going okay? I know it will be hard for a while but just terrified. Definitely open to any tips and helpful advice. Is it silly to do a print out of the things he likes/dislikes for the teacher? Thanks in advance.
