I actually feel incredibly stupid for not finding this sooner, but there's a setting in windows 11 (maybe windows 10 idk) that spoofs your device address and lets you connect to your Wi-Fi after it gets paused.

Network & Internet -> Wi-Fi -> [Wi-Fi Name] -> [Wi-Fi Name] Properties -> Random hardware addresses -> On
