I barely failed the 1h glucose test. I did have a lot of stress right before the test though. So they made me do the „big test“ two days later (it’s a 2 hour test where I live).
I did several mistakes coming up to the test: I generally have a lower carb diet (not intentionally) and did actual low carb the day before, because I was so stressed out. Also did a hard workout and was soooo nervous that I just had about 4 hours of sleep.
Fasting numbers and 2h were absolutely normal, 1h failed… again barely. Went to a diabetologist.
Tested my blood sugar levels 6 times a day for 2 weeks: Numbers are brilliant. More on the lower side just with my regular diet (even had sugary foods at my baby shower and no high numbers at all). Hba1c brilliant, my baby measures right below the 50. percentile and I haven’t gained weight excessively. Actually in the last month I gained almost nothing. Long story short: nothing is out of range except the 1h oGTT.
I read the guidelines. So i know that the diagnosis is set. But also there are factors that might lead to higher 1h levels and i have several reasons why I could have failed.
So I got a second opinion and they agreed to redo the testing. Results are expected tomorrow.
So my question is: did you have a similar situation and got a second opinion? Is there anyone who passed the test the second time around? If yes: what were the clinical consequences?
