Advice for my situation please
I have private lessons with a student he is in gymnasium but it feels like whatever I do he is not improving. Maybe I should just be stricter. To give you some info his level is preA1 (Starters) I suspect he has dyslexia or even dysgraphia. I use picture spelling but whatever I do he doesn’t learn neither the vocabulary nor how it’s written. I also use games like bamboozle and others I simplify rules to the best I can use highlighters and he still doesn’t get it. He seems to understand when someone speaks to him in English but his vocabulary is limited he just forgets what he has learnt after seconds even after constant revision. Im really feeling lost with him maybe the bigger issue is that he doesn’t care and doesnt put any effort no hw nothing. He comes whenever he wants too. Because its the end of the year Im considering not continuing with him next school year cause his parents are also late with payments and I feel like I cant help a student who doesn’t care about the lesson and doesn’t wanna be here. My relationship with him is fine we make jokes and he feels relaxed with me. Do you have any advice? Should I focus on speaking only.
