Around 2020 I was diagnosed with AGA and have since been on a treatment regiment that has kept me stable for the most part. However I still live with daily anxiety about the state of my hair “is it regrowth or miniaturization?”.
A while back I learned Victorian women collected their hair for hair pieces both for volume and elaborate styles. I realized even as my hair falls I could keep it and use it for alternative hair.
This is all of my hair fall collected from my brush over a two month span. It doesn’t include my hair lost in the shower.
To keep it I took hairs grouped in 3 all lined up at the root and stuck them to a piece of painters tape, after about 2cm of the tape is covered I fold it in half, straighten the hair and collect it in these tabs held by a small clip.
I thought this weirdly enough might be a ritual others find comforting as they watch their hair fall, it doesn’t have to be gone albeit in a strange way.
I’ve even considered sourcing a Victorian hair jar to make the process feel more glamorous and pampered.

I’ve been really enjoying drawing stickers in my sketchbook and pasting them into my bujo, I feel like I have way more freedom to move decorative things around and plan the flow of spreads.
