Hey folks,

I’m currently working as a backend developer in Bangalore at a pretty well-known e-commerce company in India. Been working mostly with Spring Boot and Go, and I’ve had some exposure to Kafka, Redis, etc.

I have around 1 year of experience so still pretty early in my career.

Lately I’ve been thinking about exploring opportunities in Dubai. I know it might not be the best long-term move career-wise, but I have some personal reasons for considering it.

Just wanted to understand from people who are already working there:

How is the software/dev job market in Dubai right now?
Are there opportunities for someone with ~1 year experience?
Does working at a reputed company in India actually help in getting interviews there, or not much?
Is it realistic to try applying from India, or do most companies prefer people already in UAE?
My current company is ~10 years old but still operates a lot like a startup — does that kind of experience translate well in Dubai? What kind of companies should I realistically target there (MNCs, startups, mid-size firms, etc.)?

Not looking for sugarcoated answer. I just want an honest picture so I can decide if it’s even worth trying.
