High mileage transmission fluid change zf8
I’ve got a 2020 Ram 1500 classic v6 with 292k miles on it. Never touched the transmission fluid. Starting to get a little shuddering at 1200 rpm’s (when cruising at 40-55 mph) and occasionally when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. I know I definitely shouldn’t do a flush with this many miles but I’d really like to change the fluid to see if it’ll prevent it from getting any worse and potentially improving some symptoms. Any input would be greatly appreciated, opinions from mechanics or people with similar experiences. I know there’s a risk with this many miles on changing the fluid/filter but I’d like to get as many miles out of this transmission as possible. I’d say about half of the mileage is highway miles. I travel highways and interstates a lot for work. Thanks
