I’m an Australian that has purchased a car in Chile and it’s registered to me and have been travelling South America for the last three months. I was told recently that I would have some trouble crossing into Bolivia and Peru from Chile with a Chilean car that’s registered to a foreigner. I was told this because apparently there’s loads of car theft and people try and smuggle cars back into Bolivia and Peru from Chile so they pretty much deny any foreigner wanting to cross the border with a Chilean Car, I thought that was kind of ridiculous, but it came from a pretty notable source, but surely if I have all the documents needed there shouldn’t be a problem. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with this particular situation
