My cat gets a small bump under his lip every time he eats wet food

I’ve been feeding my cat a mix of foods since he was a kitten (he’s about a year and 9 months old now). He’s had a variety of foods before different dry foods, and even some homemade stuff like eggs and chicken and he’s never had any issues with those.

But I’ve noticed something strange: every time he eats wet food, he gets a small bump under his lip / on the lower chin area. I’ve tried multiple brands of wet food, so it doesn’t seem tied to just one type.

When he eats dry food or other foods, this doesn’t happen at all. He drinks water normally, so hydration doesn’t seem to be an issue either.

Otherwise he acts completely normal it’s just that bump showing up after wet food.

I live about 2 hours away from the nearest vet, so it’s not easy for me to get him checked right now. I’d also prefer not to completely cut out wet food if there’s another solution.

Has anyone seen anything like this or know what might be causing it?

I noticed a pattern

I noticed something...Back when I was still thinking a lot about religion and kind of transitioning into atheism so I used to watch a lot of videos of people talking about their near death experiences.

Also, I remember my grandfather passing away, like the man saw every angel and prophet before his death, and it got me thinking. The things people say they see seem to depend heavily on their religion. For example, if the person is Muslim, they might say they saw the angel of death. If they’re Christian, they might say they saw Jesus or something related to Christianity. People from other religions describe completely different things.

It made me think about why that happens, and I looked into it. From what I’ve read, when the brain is in that kind of extreme state (like near death), it might go toward things that feel familiar to the person, which is often their religion, it's like the main coping mechanism.

I’m curious what y'all think about this, or if anyone has looked into it. Also, curious what y'all think happens after we die.
