Fall Internship 2026 Search Results

Not many openings this year since I started applying in March. Gonna be the last internship, so after this, I'll be finishing up. You're not cooked if you're early in uni, just take your time. I had a 200-to-1 reply rate about 2 years ago; I started cooking and locking in; now it's getting easier as the resume gets filled up with more experience. The take is that the first one is the hardest, after that it could be hard, but maybe not as hard.

Ignore them doomposts.

BG: Incoming Google summer, 3 previous internships, 1 at Meta, MSCS + BSCS from the same US local uni, graduating next May.

Offers: Amazon Applied Scientist Intern (Accepted), TikTok MLE Intern

OAs: Snowflake (Declined because too long), Bytedance (No Offer), Tesla (No Offer)

Interviews: Amazon, TikTok, Tesla, and some other smaller companies

No replies: Some small local companies.

Grad RA pay by hours?

So I was doing an RA with one of my professors this semester, and I was given an email by him stating that I have been accepted as an RA and the amount of work is "approximately" 5 hours per week. However, I ended up spending more time than this since I was aiming to publish a paper at a top conference, which, if you work in academia, probably know that 5 hours/week would be essentially impossible to do.

My question is when I submit my hours on Workday do I just submit 5 hours as my PI intended? Or do I submit my actual time of work, which varies week by week? I was a bit worried that he would just fire me if I log my hours beyond 5, I technically still need his recommendation letter to say the least for future references. I am not sure how he gets his fundings, that is to say I don't know if it is federal funding. What should I do in this situation? Thanks.
