You arrive just outside of the city at dawn on January 1st and leave at dawn on January 1st of the following year. You can speak, read, and write in Latin and one other language of your choice. You will have two sets of common clothing, a week's worth of dried food, 200g of silver coins in use at the time, and a bag to carry everything in. You are immune to diseases but can still die by other means such as violence or starvation.
*Edit: You also know any languages you know irl. English is practically the same in 1871 but you'd probably struggle to understand and be understood in 1520. It won't be of any help in 800 or earlier.
Or at least significant sections of it.
