My dad 81 had a stroke 2 weeks ago…. And since then he has been harassing my mom. Its crazy! I dont know how old he thinks he is (stroke mostly affected short term memory according to the doctors?) but this behavior feels so strange and then he is retaliating / threatening to throw things at my mom since she is turning him down. Has anyone else personally experienced something similar. Would love to hear from caretakers that have successfully resolved this in a safe manner. Want to make sure both my dad ( as a stroke survivor) but also my mom (as a Caretaker) are safe. Thanks!

It affected his hipocampus. We almost didnt realize it was a strong because his only symptom seemed like sudden onset dementia just incredibly confused at home and by the time we got to hospital some vision loss.
They gave him TNK and the vision restored withon 24 hours. His short term memory is shot and his ability to create new memories. Long term memory is completley unaffected which feels crazy to me as a caretaker. His strength is totally there, no issue, and he doesnt remmeber having a stroke, getting treated etc, so he is difficult to manage right now.
Any tips??
