All of this started with the grandfather. He did not raise his son the right way. If he had done his job as a parent and guardian, things could have been very different. The cousins might have had a good relationship, but the guy spoiled his daughter instead of disciplining his disgusting shit of a son (I'm not defending the uncle he's an asshole but the grandfather is to blame since he didn't discipline his son) Because of that, Nicholas the uncle grew up with bad habits and became a terrible person. Even after he was disowned and kicked out, those habits were passed on to his own daughter. Later, the grandfather had another chance. He could have raised his granddaughter better and fixed his past mistake. But he didn’t. He made the same choices again. His love was also very conditional. When Lulu’s mother obeyed him and followed his rules, he was kind to her. But when she chose her own life and married the man she loved, he changed. He became a bitch. He insulted her husband, her home, and even her newborn son his own grandson just because the baby didn’t smile at her. After all of that, he was surprised when she didn’t want to see him anymore. Because of everything the grandfather did and didn’t do the family fell apart. Clatie grew up the way she did because her father failed her, and her father failed because her grandfather failed him. (By not teaching him properly to be a decent person) And when Clatie was under the grandfather’s care, he still didn’t guide her properly. Clatie should still be held responsible for her actions. But the grandfather is the root of it all. If he had done his job as a parent and guardian, things could have been very different. The cousins might have cared about each other. Clatie might have grown into a better person. Clatie could've been close with her cousins but this old guy had to ruin it by neglecting his family and picking favourites and then abandoning said favourites if je they do something he disapproves of if he has a "redemption" arc I won't care since it's forced because the damage he did is irreversible he ruined a family and cannot be easily forgiven.
