Advice to new grad Nurse

Hey everyone! I start my new job this week and I’m super nervous. I honestly feel like nursing school didn’t fully prepare me for “real life” nursing since we always heard, “We’re preparing you for the NCLEX, not real life.” On top of that, I didn’t get much hands-on experience during clinicals because we weren’t allowed to do much.

Do you guys have any tips or advice for someone just starting on a med-surg floor? I’m especially nervous about documentation, time management, and feeling like I need to relearn so many things, especially meds. I would really appreciate any advice, encouragement, or things you wish you knew when you first started. Thank you!
