Help me recreate this animation

I was watching a Major Lazer lyric video recently, and I wanted to recreate the effect at the very beginning where lines fly toward the camera in a radial pattern. I tried making it in Fusion, but I can’t figure out how to achieve it. Is this something that can only really be done with After Effects’ Particle World?

What I tried:

  1. Creating it with Fast Noise → It ended up looking more like a star field, and I couldn’t get the effect I wanted.
  2. Duplicating small Rectangles and animating them toward the camera → I could make them fly forward, but it didn’t look like they were being continuously generated from the distance.
  3. Using pEmitter → I couldn’t figure out how to emit the lines radially. Also, in the MV the shapes don’t look like perfectly clean lines — they look more like ribbons with faded edges. I’m not sure how to create that look either.

I’d really appreciate any advice.
