M33, 6’, 230lbs. I received these results back in December and it turned out to be Bacterial Endocarditis. I had an AVR in result.
Prior to my lab results my symptoms were loss of appetite, fatigue, night sweats, increased heart rate, and fever.
My question is a little unique in the fact that my father (who is a doctor) knew my symptoms and saw my lab results. He said to delay going to ER as it is excessive and he will talk to colleagues about an infectious disease appointment for next week. We had a funeral for his dad that weekend and I went in to the ER anyways because of my fever spiking. Doctors said it’s good I came in when I did because I was in rough shape.
Question: was I thrown under the bus so I could attend the funeral? Should he have known, based on my lab results, that I needed to go into the ER right away and told me to delay it anyway?
