I felt like dead space 2008 was the perfect evolution of resident evil 4 and truly elevated what horror could be in a video game. Then here comes dead space 2, which has scared me with such intense gameplay that it genuinely impacts my ability to play efficiently. I start struggling to think and just start running around terrified. I've never played a video game where my fear directly impacts my gameplay like this... maybe horror isn't a valid reason to love a game, but on top of the action... literally visceral.

Any other games that you think evolve a genre so well?
