He ended up getting 10-15 packs of Paldean Fates. TCGPlayer app valued everything at around $1,800+. I figured it's at least worth getting a second opinion, if you don't mind.

They all have the same hollow pattern and they feel a little too thin. They are close enough though that I can't quite rule them out as real all on my own.
