I just withdrew my application as an English major because I realized the major was not for me anyway. I was already on the right track to becoming an actuarian as a math major, I didn’t want any English classes to interfere with it since studying for the actuary exams takes a lot of time. Better luck next time for me.

My parents and I were happy that I got accepted, but when my parents saw the major I got accepted in, they were disappointed and concerned with it because a lot of people who had graduated from college with that major did not have any good jobs that pay them a high income. I am currently trying to find a way to change my current major back to mathematics, even though I have not finished all of the required courses for it yet, but I didn’t see anything on Howdy that would change it for me. I have sent a letter to the department requesting a change of major, but I honestly don’t see my major changing back to mathematics soon unless I have finished one more semester in my current institution which sucks because I do not want to see the people in their dorms ever again. I hope A&M would change my major back to mathematics soon anytime soon before the fall semester starts, I didn’t wanna be there as an English major who is trying to get in the math program as fast as I can when there might not be any room for me to fit in soon. I didn’t get the grades that were required for my coursework, but I have already finished them. A lot of people were demanding to be in the engineering majors due to AI taking over many jobs, I guess I gotten too carried away with the student life rather than focusing on the purpose of why I chose to be a math major. It would have been better if I got either deferred or rejected instead. On the bright side, no matter if I got in or not, 2026 has been an amazing year so far.
