I’ll start this post by saying I’m new to MacOS; switching from windows, so I’m not very clear on how macOS performs, and how snappy it is, so forgive me if my questions seem dumb hahaha
I came across a 14” MacBook Pro m3, 8gb ram with only 9 charge cycles, so it’s basically new. I intend to use it for the rest of my undergrad course (finance), so I’ll be running stuff like heavy excel files, word, r studio, up to 15-20 tabs on safari, Claude ai, stuff like that.
To anyone that has this specific configuration or similar:
Since it’s been about 3 years since this came out, have you noticed a drop in performance?
What type of usage do you have, and is 8gb ram enough for it?
Do you feel like you need more ram for your tasks, or is the m3 chip powerful enough?
Is gaming a good experience on this specific configuration? Do games load up quickly?
